What that means
01 — THE STORY

Made for a more open internet.

A short history of a wallet built for the curious.

Jaxx Liberty arrived during a formative period for cryptocurrency. Bitcoin was moving beyond specialist forums, new networks were appearing, and everyday people were looking for a simpler way to keep track of digital assets. The wallet set out to bring several parts of that experience into one approachable place.

Created by Decentral, Jaxx became known for its cross-platform presence and accessible interface. Instead of asking users to navigate a single asset at a time, it brought wallet balances, market information, and portfolio views together. Its appeal was practical: one familiar hub for exploring a fast-changing ecosystem.

A product of its moment. Jaxx Liberty reflected an early belief that people should be able to explore blockchain networks directly, while keeping control of their own wallet credentials.

The name also belonged to a particular moment in crypto culture: optimistic, experimental, and still working out what good everyday tools could look like. For many people, Jaxx was an introduction to concepts such as recovery phrases, public addresses, and the responsibility that comes with self-custody.

02 — THE LEGACY

A snapshot of what
the wallet brought together.

These are historical characteristics, not features you can use today.

01

A multi-asset view

People could follow supported digital assets from a single wallet interface, rather than juggling a separate app for every holding.

02

One account, more than one screen

Desktop and mobile availability made it possible to check in across devices, a useful idea as crypto tools moved into daily life.

03

Ownership with responsibility

Self-custody gave users direct responsibility for their recovery information. That freedom mattered—and made careful backup habits essential.

03 — BEFORE YOU TAKE ACTION

Your recovery phrase is yours alone.

If you used Jaxx Liberty, treat any recovery phrase or private key as highly sensitive. Never share it with a person, website, “support agent,” or anyone claiming they can restore your funds. A recovery phrase gives control over the wallet it belongs to.

Because the service is discontinued, this site cannot reconnect an old wallet or verify a balance. Be especially wary of unofficial replacement apps, urgent direct messages, and download links that promise to recover assets. Do not enter your phrase into a website to “check” whether it works.

If you still hold a backup, research a reputable, currently maintained wallet independently and follow that provider’s official documentation. Verify addresses and software sources carefully, and consider getting qualified help before moving assets. No guide can guarantee recovery or prevent loss.

This is general information, not financial, legal, or recovery advice.
